UM Health Services-Interface Design

University of Michigan Health System

University of Michigan Health System approached us for the redesign of the “Medical Services” section of their website.

Keywords: Heuristic analysis, stakeholder interview, low fi prototyping, wireframing, mid fi prototyping, information architecture

University of Michigan Health System wanted to satisfy the requirements of their internal and external stakeholders. Their website could not provide a consistent classification system and had other minor issues such as visual clutter due to advertisements and other information organized according to no specific design system. There is also no clear experience demarcation between the parent website and the pediatric services websites.

Our Goal

  • As a team of two, we made suggestions by taking into consideration the needs of both stake-holders’ requirements of terminology and organization.
  • We strove to keep users informed of where in the system they were, especially while moving to another website.
  • We designed the page to attempt reduction of visual clutter by rearranging the information and advertisement boxes.

I created a prototype using  Axure to primarily demonstrate the layout and visual feedback while moving to another site.
